FAQ

Q?

I want to buy some microspheres and reagents from your company. How could I send the order to you and how could I pay for you?

A.

Please view our pricelist to choose from different microspheres and reagents you would require. Orders can be placed by phone/email/fax using a Purchase Order. Orders can be processed only upon receipt of the authorized PO or payment pre arranged and approved.

Q?

What microsphere color should we choose when we need one color? and if we need several type of colors, how should we choose them?

A.

All of our microspheres are unique and equally sensitive, so any of them should serve your needs. The NuFlow high colors (Coral-High, Yellow-High, Pink-High and Purple-High) are less likely to have interference from samples prone to biological debris such as skin or skeletal muscle.

Q?

What kind of tube can we use to send the samples for analysis?

A.

Please use only polypropylene tubes to send the samples. Customer can purchase tubes from us (we supply them at nominal cost) or can use their own tube as long as they are made of polypropylene and are sealed in zip-lock bags with reference blood samples in their own individual bags.

Q?

We want to compare in each organ the perfusion during an extra corporeal circulation and after it. We planed brain, cardiac, liver, kidney and bowel samples. How many samples of each organ are mandatory to optimize the statistical analysis?

A.

The important consideration is the number of microspheres being counted for each region. Obtaining the desired microsphere counts will depend on microsphere injection and total volume of each organ or region analyzed. The needs of each experiment can change so feel free to ask us more details pertaining to your specific needs.

Q?

For tissue biopsy samples, to simplify the transportation by mail, the fixation with formaldehyde seems the more convenient. Can you precise me the protocol of formaldehyde fixation (dose, time, concentration of formaldehyde, etc.)?

A.

Samples do not need any formaldehyde or formalin fixing to be analyzed. If you do add any formaldehyde or formalin to the tissues, please decant them before sending to us. If you are doing multiple animals, you can refrigerate all your samples until they are all ready and then send them all at once. If you are not planning to ship the over night place some ice packs in the box.

Q?

Some of the samples were left at room temperature for a prolonged period of time, are they now ruined?

A.

No, as long as the weight of the sample was taken at the time it was extracted. The microsphere counts are all we need from the tissue and blood samples. No amount of tissue decay will harm these microspheres. Refrigeration is generally recommended for odor purposes.

Q?

For Tissue and Blood samples transportation by mail, do we need refrigerated boxes or standard boxes are useful?

A.

You do NOT have to keep the tissues and blood samples refrigerated while shipping. If you want you can place the samples in the tubes in the bags into a Styrofoam box, add some ice packs and mail directly to us.
